11 Panel Drug Test Cups

An 11 panel drug test cup collects a urine sample and screens it for eleven drugs at once, with results in about 5 minutes.
Our Serenity Cup® 11 panel cup has no THC strip. It tests amphetamines, barbiturates, buprenorphine, benzodiazepines,
cocaine, ecstasy (MDMA), methamphetamine, methadone, opiates (morphine, 300 ng/mL), oxycodone and PCP. That makes
it a fit for opioid treatment, pain management and any program that does not test for marijuana. It's a 120 mL click-top cup,
from $1.59 per cup in bulk. Need marijuana too? See our 12 panel cups.

How to Use an 11 Panel Urine Drug Test Cup

Collect

1 - Collect

Open the sealed pouch just before use. The donor fills the cup to the line. Close the lid until it clicks.

Wait

2 - Wait

Within 4 minutes, check the temperature strip. A green dot at 90–100°F means the sample is fresh.

Read

3 - Read

Peel the label and read at 5 minutes. Do not read after 8 minutes.

Positive

Positive

Only the control line (C) appears. The drug is at or above the cutoff. This is a preliminary result: confirm it by GC-MS or LC-MS/MS before acting.

Negative

Negative

Lines appear at C and T. A faint T line still counts as negative.

Invalid

Invalid

No C line. Retest with a new cup. If it happens again, call us with the lot number.

What's Inside an 11 Panel Drug Test Kit?

Each 11 panel drug test kit is one sealed 120 mL cup with eleven built-in strips, a temperature strip, a click-top lid and a package insert with the cutoffs and reading guide. No extra equipment is needed.

Illicit Drugs

Cocaine (COC), ecstasy (MDMA), PCP.

Opioids & Treatment Medications

Opiates/morphine (OPI 300), oxycodone (OXY), methadone (MTD), buprenorphine (BUP). Four opioid strips in one cup, so OTP and MAT programs can check both the prescribed medication and misuse.

Stimulants & Depressants

Amphetamine (AMP), methamphetamine (MET), barbiturates (BAR), benzodiazepines (BZO).

Leak Proof, Tamper Evident, Multi-Drug Detection

Each strip has its own control line, so you can see the test ran. The temperature strip helps flag a substituted sample at collection. The sealed body and click-top lid keep urine away from staff and hold a non-negative sample safely for the lab. Each strip is a lateral flow immunoassay that reacts to a drug or metabolite such as cocaine's benzoylecgonine.

Understanding the 11 Panel Drug Test Cup: Purpose, Detection Science, and Real-World Use

An 11 panel urine drug test cup is a point-of-care immunoassay. It gives a qualitative, presumptive result for eleven drug classes from one sample. NIDA notes that urine is the most common drug-testing sample because it is easy to collect and turns results around quickly. Cup results are a first screen. Positive results should be confirmed by GC-MS or LC-MS/MS. Instant cups are not used for DOT-regulated tests, which require an HHS-certified lab under 49 CFR Part 40.

The 11-Panel Urine Drug Test Cup: Analytical Principles, Clinical Applications, and Interpretive Considerations

The 11-panel urine drug test cup is a widely utilized point-of-care immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of multiple classes of psychoactive substances. It is commonly implemented in occupational health, clinical toxicology, substance use disorder (SUD) treatment programs, and forensic screening contexts. This article reviews the analytical principles underlying multi-panel immunoassay testing, common analytes included in 11-panel configurations, clinical applications, and key limitations in interpretation. While such assays provide rapid presumptive results, confirmatory testing using chromatographic methods remains the diagnostic standard.

Where Are 11 Panel Drug Test Cups Used?

Setting Main uses Why an 11 panel cup fits
Workplace programs (non-DOT) Pre-employment, random, post-accident Covers stimulants, opioids and sedatives; a no-THC option for employers that dropped marijuana testing
Opioid treatment & MAT clinics Intake, adherence, relapse checks BUP, MTD, OPI and OXY strips in one cup show the prescribed drug and non-prescribed use
Pain-management practices Adherence and misuse screening Oxycodone, benzodiazepine and barbiturate strips
Probation, parole & drug courts Compliance and random testing Broad coverage at a low cost per test; send non-negatives to a lab before sanctions
Sober living & recovery housing Admission and random resident testing Simple to run in non-clinical settings; catches club drugs (MDMA) and PCP
Physician offices Point-of-care screening 5-minute result during the visit

Clinical Interpretation of 11-Panel Urine Drug Testing Results

The interpretation of 11-panel urine drug test results requires an understanding of immunoassay limitations, cutoff thresholds, and clinical context. While these tests are widely used for rapid screening, they are not diagnostic on their own and must be interpreted as presumptive findings.

Immunoassay Interpretation Framework

Most 11-panel cups operate on a competitive binding immunoassay system, where:

  • A visible line pattern indicates a negative result
  • Absence of a line (beyond control validation) indicates a presumptive positive

Importantly, intensity of the test line does not correlate with drug concentration.

Reading an 11 panel cup: the strips use competitive binding. A line at T means the drug is below the cutoff (negative). No line at T means it is at or above the cutoff (presumptive positive). Line darkness does not show how much drug is present.

Amphetamines about 2 days, cocaine 2–4 days, opiates 2–3 days, PCP about 8 days (recovered.org, accessed 2026-10-02). Methamphetamine, MDMA, benzodiazepine, barbiturate, buprenorphine, methadone and oxycodone windows vary with the drug, dose and how often it is used. A urine cup shows recent use, not current impairment.

Employers, treatment programs and courts use 11 panel cups because one cup covers the drugs they monitor most. SAMHSA's Drug-Free Workplace program describes testing as one part of a broader policy to deter drug use and improve safety.

CLIA Waived vs. Forensic Use Only: Which Is This Cup?

This 11 panel drug cup carries a "Forensic Use Only" designation, which has specific meaning for who can purchase it and how results can be used.

Our 11 panel cup is FDA cleared and CLIA waived, so it can be used for point-of-care screening in CLIA-waived settings. Some sites need a CLIA Certificate of Waiver. Forensic Use Only tests are a different category, sold for non-clinical uses such as courts and probation. See our CLIA Waived vs. Forensic Use Only page.

Forensic Use Only tests are sold for non-clinical uses such as probation, courts and sober living. They are not for diagnosing or guiding medical treatment. Many courts require lab confirmation (GC-MS or LC-MS/MS) before a result is used as evidence.

A faint T line next to the control line is negative.

No. It has a temperature strip but no adulterant pads.

No. DOT tests require an HHS-certified lab.

No. Some instant cups include THC and propoxyphene and leave out buprenorphine and MDMA. Lab 11 panels may add alcohol (EtG) or expanded opiates. Always check the panel your employer, court or program requires.

It is a reliable screen read at 5 minutes. Positives are preliminary and should be confirmed by GC-MS or LC-MS/MS. Sensitivity figures are in the package insert.

A sealed 120 mL cup, eleven strips, a temperature strip, a click-top lid and an insert.

Treat it as preliminary. Send the sample to a lab for GC-MS or LC-MS/MS confirmation before any decision.
