4-Panel Mouth Swab (Oral Fluid) – Buyer FAQ

Q: What substances does this 4-panel oral fluid test detect?
A: It screens for Amphetamine (AMP 50), Cocaine (COC 20), Opiates (OPI 40), and Phencyclidine (PCP 10).

Q: Why choose a 4-panel test instead of a larger one?
A: The 4-panel test provides targeted screening of four of the most commonly abused and high-risk drug classes. It is cost-efficient, quick, and easy to interpret, making it ideal for employers, law enforcement, and clinical settings where only these major drugs are of concern.

Q: How accurate is this test?
A: The test is manufactured to professional standards with established cutoff levels for each drug. When performed correctly, it provides reliable and consistent results comparable to lab-based screening.

Q: How is the test performed?
A: The device uses a non-invasive mouth swab. Place the absorbent tip inside the mouth until saturated with saliva, then insert it into the device. Results are available within 5–10 minutes.

Q: How long after use can drugs be detected in saliva?
A:

Amphetamine & Cocaine: Usually detectable within minutes to 48 hours.

Opiates: Detectable up to 24–48 hours.

PCP: May be detectable up to 72 hours, depending on usage.

Q: Can this test be cheated or tampered with?
A: Oral fluid testing is tamper-resistant because collection is directly observed, reducing the chance of substitution or adulteration.

Q: Who uses this 4-panel test?
A: Common buyers include employers (especially in transportation, construction, and manufacturing), law enforcement agencies (roadside or probation monitoring), clinics, and insurance providers who want quick and focused drug screening.

4 Panel Oral Swab PEN Tests For
Test Strip Tested drug Cutoff level
AMP - testing drug strip in drug testing kit Amphetamines 50 ng/ml

  • Employers & HR Departments

    • Especially in safety-sensitive industries (construction, transportation, manufacturing, warehousing).

    • They often only need to screen for the most common high-risk drugs that impair performance: amphetamines, cocaine, opiates, and PCP.

    • Chosen for reasonable suspicion testing or post-incident investigations.

  • Law Enforcement & Probation Agencies

    • Used for roadside checks or probation monitoring when rapid, on-site screening is required.

    • Oral swab tests are portable, tamper-resistant, and detect recent drug use, which is especially useful in DUI/DWI scenarios.

  • Healthcare & Clinical Settings

    • Clinics, rehab centers, and emergency departments may use the 4-panel swab for quick triage.

    • Ideal where only the most critical, high-abuse drugs need to be identified.

  • Insurance Providers

    • Sometimes used in life or health insurance underwriting, to screen applicants for illicit drug use without requiring urine samples.

  • Schools, Athletic Programs & Youth Services

    • Selected by school administrators, coaches, or youth programs who want to monitor for the most commonly abused “hard drugs.”

    • Smaller panel = less intimidating, lower cost, but still effective for deterrence.

Fast, reliable, and cost-effective — the 4 Panel Oral Fluid Drug Test provides targeted results where it matters most.

On-Site Use – Designed for rapid screening with results in minutes; no lab equipment required.

Why PCP? – PCP is a high-risk hallucinogen often included in workplace and law enforcement panels.

Forensic Use Only – Intended for professional, workplace, and clinical settings; not for OTC home diagnostic use.

How to Use 4 Panel Saliva Drug Test PEN

D Pen Oral Swab 696 x 283 px 2
Untitled design 9
Untitled design 10

STEP 1.

Remove the test device from the foil pouch. Hold the grip and remove the cap to expose the absorbent pad.

STEP 2.

Place the absorbent pad into the mouth and swab both cheeks and tongue for a few seconds, then place the absorbent pad in the middle of the mouth to continue collecting saliva. The absorbent pad should be touching tongue or under tongue. Make sure the test device is horizontal to prevent flooding.

STEP 3.

Remove the test device from the mouth once the saliva can be seen travelling on the test strips. Then place the device on a flat surface. Immediately start the timer.

STEP 4.

Read results at 5 minutes. Do not read after 10 minutes.

NOTE:

* When sampling, gently hold it in mouth and let oral fluid naturally adsorb on the absorbent pad. Do not force saliva into the device to prevent flooding.
* Do not eat, drink, or smoke for at least 30 minutes prior to sample collection.
* Any oral fluid specimen is appropriate for testing but the oral fluid specimen collected in the morning, before mouth rinsed, eating or drinking, is recommended.

Rapid Oral Drug Test Intended Use

4 Panel Oral Fluid Drug Test is a rapid oral fluid screening test. It is a lateral-flow, one-step immunoassay for the qualitative detection of specific drugs and their principal metabolites in human oral fluid at the stated cut-off concentrations for use in employment and insurance testing.

This assay provides only a qualitative, preliminary analytical test result. A more specific analytical method must be used to obtain a confirmed result. Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) is the preferred confirmatory method. Clinical consideration and professional judgment should be applied to any drug-of-abuse test result, particularly when preliminary positive results are indicated.

For employment and insurance testing use.

Principle of the Procedure

The 4 Panel Oral Fluid Drug Test is a competitive immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of selected drugs or their metabolites in oral fluid. The device operates as a chromatographic absorbent system, in which analytes present in the specimen compete with immobilized drug conjugates for a limited number of antibody–dye conjugate binding sites.

When the absorbent collection tip is placed in the oral cavity, oral fluid is drawn into the device by capillary action, where it mixes with the antibody–dye conjugate and migrates across a membrane pre-coated with drug–protein conjugates.

If the drug concentration in the specimen is below the designated cutoff level, the antibody–dye conjugate binds to the immobilized drug–protein conjugates in the Test (T) region, forming a visible colored line. Any visible line in the T region, regardless of intensity, should be interpreted as a negative result.

If the drug concentration in the specimen is at or above the cutoff level, the free drug molecules present in the sample bind preferentially to the antibody–dye conjugate. This prevents binding at the T region, and no line will appear. The absence of a line in the T region indicates a presumptive positive result.

A colored line in the Control (C) region confirms that the test has been performed correctly and that the device is functioning properly.

This assay provides rapid specimen collection, consistent fluid migration, and reduced opportunities for adulteration. It is suitable for use in forensic, employment, insurance, and reasonable suspicion testing scenarios.

Instructions for Use (IFU)

Materials Required but Not Provided

Timer or stopwatch

Directions for Use (Quick Reference)

Instruct the donor not to eat, drink, or smoke for at least 30 minutes prior to sample collection.

Place the absorbent collection tip in the mouth and allow oral fluid to naturally saturate the swab.

Insert the saturated swab into the device as directed in the Instructions for Use.

Start timing once the specimen is introduced into the device.

Interpretation of Results

Negative: Two distinct lines appear (one at C and one at T). Any visible line at T, regardless of intensity, is considered negative.

Positive: A line appears in the C region only; no line is visible in the T region for the drug tested.

Invalid: No line appears in the C region, or lines are smeared/unclear. The test should be repeated using a new device.

FORENSIC USE PRODUCT

Ship Date and Zip Code Results

Why Does My Tracking Info Still Say "Label Created, Not yet in the System" When I Placed It X Days Ago?

If your order was placed via USPS, sometimes your label might not show up in their system even 1-3 days after they have received the package. The same can happen for UPS orders, although they almost always show up in their system the night which they are shipped. If you have any questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us and we will investigate the matter.

If I Pay for a next Day Air Delivery, Am I Guaranteed to Receive It the next Day?

Air deliveries performed by UPS are counted via business days, so you will receive your package the business day after it has been shipped. We also do not ship orders placed after 4 pm EST on the same day, so Next Day orders placed after 4 pm will be shipped the following business day.

Why Can't I Check the Tracking of My Package?

After you place your order, an email will be sent to you with the tracking number within a business day. If you did not receive this email, it’s possible that the e-mail was entered incorrectly, sent to your spam folder, or blocked. If you did not receive this email, please call or email us and we’ll be happy to give you the status of your shipment.

I Placed My Order but I No Longer Need It. Can I Return It and Get a Refund?

We accept returns for unused items as long as they are placed within 30 days after the day they are purchased. Although shipping is free upon order, we still incur a cost for every order that is shipped, and you will be refunded the amount of your order once we receive the returned goods, minus the cost of shipping.
