We at 12PanelNow are on a constant mission to present our esteemed customers with top-notch drug test  supplies that meet their varied requirements. We are thrilled to present our latest innovation – the Urine Adulteration Test Strips that are designed to screen for Creatinine, Nitrite, Glutaraldehyde, pH, Specific Gravity, Oxidants, and Pyridinium Chlorochromate in human urine.

Understanding Urine Adulteration Test Strips

Urine Adulteration Test Strips represent a crucial tool in drug testing, employed to check if a urine sample has been manipulated, tampered with, or adulterated to hide the presence of illicit substances. They scrutinize for certain adulterants and parameters in the urine that may signify an attempt to evade positive drug test results when significantly altered.

What are Adulteration Test Strips?

You may be asking yourself, what is an adulterant test in drug testing? Adulteration test strips are tools used to determine if a urine sample has been tampered with or altered to mask the presence of drugs. They test for adulterants and certain parameters in the urine that, when significantly altered, may indicate an attempt to evade positive drug test results.

Drug Adulteration Test Strips: The Process

Drug adulteration test strips involve using test strips to check if a urine sample has been interfered with, or modified to conceal the presence of drugs. They can detect changes in various aspects of the urine sample, such as temperature, color, pH, specific gravity, and the existence of masking agents.

If these facets of the urine sample are manipulated, it might indicate attempts to dilute, substitute, or chemically modify the sample to yield a negative test result. Hence, urine adulterant strips are pivotal in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of drug tests.

How To Use Our Adulteration Test Strips?

Adulteration Test Strips
Adulteration Pad Reactive Buffer and Non-reactive  Ingredient Indicator
Creatinine (CRE) 0.04% 99.96%
Nitrite (NIT) 0.07% 99.93%
Glutaraldehyde (GLUT) 0.02% 99.98%
pH 0.06% 99.94%
Specific Gravity (SG) 0.25% 99.75%
Oxidants/PCC OXI/PCC) 0.36% 99.64%

Before you start testing, ensure that the strip, urine sample, and any controls have acclimatized to room temperature, which should ideally be between 15-30ºC.

  1. Take out the strip from its sealed container and use it promptly. After you’ve taken out the necessary number of strips, make sure to secure the canister tightly.
  2. Submerge the reagent sections of the strip fully in a urine sample that’s been thoroughly mixed. After immersion, the strip should be promptly removed from the urine sample to prevent the reagents from dissolving. Refer to the illustration for further guidance.
  3. Now, keep the strip flat and without delay, touch an absorbent material like a paper towel with the edge of the strip. This step prevents the mixing of chemicals from adjacent reagent sections and also prevents urine from getting onto your hands. Please refer to the illustration for more clarity.
  4. Wait for a minute and then compare the reagent areas with the color blocks printed on the label of the canister. Make sure to hold the strip near to the color blocks for accurate matching. Avoid interpreting results if more than 4 minutes have passed. You’ll find more details in illustration 3.

Crucial Precautions to Bear in Mind

It is important to note that this test is intended only for Forensic/Toxicology use and should not be used post the expiration date. The strips should be stored in the closed canister until they are used. Additionally, the reagent areas of the strip should not be touched, and any discolored strips that might have deteriorated should be discarded. All specimens should be considered potentially hazardous and handled as if they are infectious agents.

What is Forensic use only?

Forensic Use Only devices are meant to be sold for research purposes only. These devices are not regulated by the FDA and are only to be used as screening tools. If further information is required over the result of a forensic use only drug test, please send the device to laboratory for confirmation.

Courts, police departments, probation/parole offices, juvenile detention centers, prisons, jails, correction centers, and other law enforcement agencies, as well as laboratories or other establishments that do forensic testing for these entities, are all appropriate users of such devices.

Forensic Use Only devices are not intended, tested, produced, or labeled for use in other environments, such as clinical diagnostics or the workplace.

What does it imply when something says "For Forensic Use Only"?

This means that the drug testing device is not FDA 510k cleared. Drug tests with this indication should not be utilized for employment screening, pain management screening, or any other purpose. These tests are exclusively for drug testing in law enforcement, prisons, the military, or other government institutions.

What products are included in this category?

Some saliva/oral drug detection products are only intended for forensic usage. Additionally, some speciality tests (like our K2/Spice drug test) are specifically meant for forensic usage. Other screening devices may also fall within this category. Any equipment on our site that is only intended for forensic use will be clearly marked on the product page.

Why Does My Tracking Info Still Say "Label Created, Not yet in the System" When I Placed It X Days Ago?

If your order was placed via USPS, sometimes your label might not show up in their system even 1-3 days after they have received the package. The same can happen for UPS orders, although they almost always show up in their system the night which they are shipped. If you have any questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us and we will investigate the matter.

If I Pay for a next Day Air Delivery, Am I Guaranteed to Receive It the next Day?

Air deliveries performed by UPS are counted via business days, so you will receive your package the business day after it has been shipped. We also do not ship orders placed after 4 pm EST on the same day, so Next Day orders placed after 4 pm will be shipped the following business day.

Why Can't I Check the Tracking of My Package?

After you place your order, an email will be sent to you with the tracking number within a business day. If you did not receive this email, it’s possible that the e-mail was entered incorrectly, sent to your spam folder, or blocked. If you did not receive this email, please call or email us and we’ll be happy to give you the status of your shipment.

I Placed My Order but I No Longer Need It. Can I Return It and Get a Refund?

We accept returns for unused items as long as they are placed within 30 days after the day they are purchased. Although shipping is free upon order, we still incur a cost for every order that is shipped, and you will be refunded the amount of your order once we receive the returned goods, minus the cost of shipping.
