How to Use the 14 Panel Saliva Drug Test:

14 panel saliva drug test instructions

Instructions To Use 14 Panel Drug Test:

    1. Prep: Ensure the device and sample are at room temperature (60-86°F). Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking for at least 10 minutes prior to testing.
    2. Use the included swab to collect saliva by gently swiping inside the mouth (cheeks, gums, and tongue) until the saturation indicator shows a sufficient sample has been gathered.
    3. Insert the swab securely into the test device and ensure it is locked in place.

Important notice!

  1. SHAKE THE TEST GENTLY and make sure the saliva sample distributes evenly on the bottom. Keep the device upright and allow the test to run for 10 minutes (2–3 minutes for alcohol results).
  2. Set the timer for 10 minutes.
  3. Interpret the results. Dispose of the device as biohazard waste after use or send it to a lab for confirmation in the case of presumptive positives.

How Interpret DOA Test Strip Results?

DOA test strip reading results

POSITIVE: Only one colored band appears, in the control region (C). No colored band appears in the
test region (T) for the drug in question. A positive result indicates that the drug concentration exceeds the
detectable level.
NEGATIVE: Two colored bands appear on the membrane. One band appears in the control region (C)
and another band appears in the test region (T) for the drug in question. A negative result indicates that
the drug concentration is below the detectable level.
INVALID: Control band fails to appear. Results from any test which has not produced a control band (C)

NOTE:
1. The intensity of color in the test region (T) may vary depending on the concentration of analytes
present in the specimen. Therefore, any shade of color in the test region (T) should be considered
negative. Please note that this is a qualitative test only, and cannot determine the concentration of
analytes in the specimen.
2. Insufficient specimen volume, incorrect operating procedure or expired tests are the most likely
reasons for control band failure.

How Interpret ALC (Alcohol) Test Strip Results?

Alcohol test strip reading results

NOTE: No LINES appear on the Alcohol Test Strip!

POSITIVE: The One Step Saliva Alcohol Test will produce a color change in the presence of saliva alcohol.
The color will range from light blue color at 0.02% relative blood alcohol concentration to a dark blue color near 0.30% relative blood alcohol concentration. Color pads are provided within this range to allow an approximation of relative blood alcohol concentration. The test may produce colors that appear to be between adjacent color pads.

NOTE: The One Step Saliva Alcohol Test is very sensitive to the presence of alcohol. A blue color that is lighter than the 0.02% color pad should be interpreted as being positive to the presence of alcohol in saliva but less than 0.02% relative blood alcohol.

NEGATIVE: When the One Step Saliva Alcohol Test shows no color change this should be interpreted as a negative result indicating that alcohol has not been detected.

INVALID: If the color pad has a blue color before applying saliva sample, do not use the test.

Alcohol detection is indicated by a color change on the reaction pad, with varying colors depicting different concentration levels.

The 14 panel saliva drug test, also known as a 14 panel mouth swab drug test or oral swab drug test, is an advanced testing method used to detect the presence of 14 different substances in an individual’s oral fluid. Unlike other drug tests, such as urine testing, saliva testing is non-invasive.

This test is widely adopted across industries for its accuracy and convenience, making it a preferred option for employers, human resources professionals, safety managers, treatment centers, and even healthcare providers.

Benefits of Choosing Saliva Drug Testing

Saliva drug testing offers numerous advantages, making it a preferred method for many applications. Unlike traditional urine, saliva tests are entirely non-invasive, requiring no special equipment or intrusive procedures. They also provide immediate results, making them ideal for situations where time and accuracy are critical. The method’s ease of use and minimal handling reduces the risk of contamination, ensuring reliable outcomes.

Purpose For Workplace Testing Testing:

The test can identify 14 drugs and substances, including their respective cut-off concentrations. Here’s a breakdown of the substances it detects and why they matter in workplace safety:

  • Amphetamine (AMP): Stimulants are often misused for productivity but cause dependency.
  • Barbiturates (BAR): Sedative drugs cause drowsiness and dependency.
  • Benzodiazepines (BZO): Causes sedation; often abused beyond prescriptions.
  • Buprenorphine (BUP): Commonly prescribed for opioid addiction; potential misuse.
  • Cocaine (COC): Highly addictive stimulant with severe health implications.
  • Methamphetamine (MET): Powerful stimulants linked to erratic behavior and safety risks.
  • Opiates (OPI): Includes heroin and morphine, which are responsible for the opioid crisis.
  • Oxycodone (OXY): Potent painkillers with high abuse potential.

  • Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA): “Ecstasy” or “Molly,” a stimulant and hallucinogen.
  • Phencyclidine (PCP): Hallucinogen known for extreme behavior and safety concerns.
  • Fentanyl (FEN): Synthetic opioid 50-100 times stronger than morphine.
  • Alcohol (ALC): Affects reaction time; causes impaired judgment.

Technology Behind the 14 Panel Saliva Drug Test

The 14 panel saliva drug test utilizes advanced technology to quickly and accurately detect the presence of various substances in an individual’s saliva sample. This test employs immunoassay screening methods, a widely accepted and reliable technique used in drug testing. Immunoassay tests work by utilizing specific antibodies to bind with the targeted drugs or their metabolites, producing a measurable response that indicates their presence. These tests are designed to detect a range of substances commonly abused, including but not limited to opioids, amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, benzodiazepines, and barbiturates. The 14 panel saliva drug test leverages the power of this technology to provide comprehensive and reliable results, making it a valuable tool for workplace safety and compliance programs.

By incorporating the 14 panel saliva drug test into your drug testing program, you can ensure a thorough and accurate assessment of substance abuse. This advanced technology offers numerous benefits, including:

  • Accuracy: The immunoassay screening methods employed by the 14 panel saliva drug test are known for their high sensitivity and specificity, minimizing the chances of false-positive or false-negative results.
  • Rapid Results: With rapid turnaround times of just a few minutes, this test provides quick results, allowing for immediate action and decision-making.
  • Non-Invasive Sampling: Saliva samples can be easily collected, making this drug test a convenient and non-invasive option.
  • Detection Window: The 14 panel saliva drug test can detect recent drug use within a window of up to 48 hours, providing valuable insights into recent substance abuse.

Why Does My Tracking Info Still Say "Label Created, Not yet in the System" When I Placed It X Days Ago?

If your order was placed via USPS, sometimes your label might not show up in their system even 1-3 days after they have received the package. The same can happen for UPS orders, although they almost always show up in their system the night which they are shipped. If you have any questions regarding the status of your order, please contact us and we will investigate the matter.

If I Pay for a next Day Air Delivery, Am I Guaranteed to Receive It the next Day?

Air deliveries performed by UPS are counted via business days, so you will receive your package the business day after it has been shipped. We also do not ship orders placed after 4 pm EST on the same day, so Next Day orders placed after 4 pm will be shipped the following business day.

Why Can't I Check the Tracking of My Package?

After you place your order, an email will be sent to you with the tracking number within a business day. If you did not receive this email, it’s possible that the e-mail was entered incorrectly, sent to your spam folder, or blocked. If you did not receive this email, please call or email us and we’ll be happy to give you the status of your shipment.

I Placed My Order but I No Longer Need It. Can I Return It and Get a Refund?

We accept returns for unused items as long as they are placed within 30 days after the day they are purchased. Although shipping is free upon order, we still incur a cost for every order that is shipped, and you will be refunded the amount of your order once we receive the returned goods, minus the cost of shipping.
